Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Edgar

Edgar waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Neillsville/Granton Warriors get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not much got past Jorja Knetter, who gave up just three hits to keep Neillsville/Granton off the board.

At the plate, Alyson Kolano and Isabella Kaiser did most of the damage at the plate: Kolano scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Kaiser scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave Kaiser a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Riley Mueller, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Edgar's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Neillsville/Granton, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edgar will venture away from home to take on Rib Lake at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Neillsville/Granton, they will head out to face off against Auburndale at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The last three games the Apaches have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
