While Macomb's victory against Astoria/VIT wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Macomb skirted past Astoria/VIT 9-8. The Bombers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rebels on Friday, too.

Kendyl Danner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and four unearned) runs on nine hits. Those hits were her first of the season.

At the plate, Josie Elbe was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Raegan Knowles, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

The win made it two in a row for Macomb and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Astoria/VIT, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Macomb will face off against rival Abingdon at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Astoria/VIT is set to square off against their familiar foe Bushnell-Prairie City at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
