Recap: Oasis Christian Lions vs. Hardee Wildcats

The Oasis Christian Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. Their tough 62-40 defeat to Hardee might stick with them for a while.

When it comes to explaining why Oasis Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cole Durden. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Daniel Evangelisto was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

Hardee's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tedrick Simon, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Phoenix Romeo, who scored 15 points.

Oasis Christian has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Hardee, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oasis Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Frostproof at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Hardee will be home for the holidays to greet Babcock at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Babcock focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Thursday.
