Softball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Edgewood-Colesburg's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Edgewood-Colesburg hadn't done well against Independence recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Vikings came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 5-2. For the Vikings, this counts as revenge for the 9-0 win the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in June of 2024.

Edgewood-Colesburg is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 17-5 record this season. As for Independence, they dropped their record down to 2-13 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edgewood-Colesburg will head out to square off against Easton Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Independence, they will square off against West Delaware at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Hawks will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight.
