Morgantown faced Wheeling Park in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Mohigans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Patriots. The win was nothing new for the Mohigans as they're now sitting on five straight.

Morgantown got a great performance from Lucas Shinn as he tossed 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits.

At the plate, Morgantown's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Weston Mazey, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Morgantown's win bumped their record up to 16-8. As for Wheeling Park, their loss dropped their record down to 15-8.

Coming up, Morgantown will be playing in front of their home fans against Buckhannon-Upshur at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wheeling Park, they will head out to square off against John Marshall at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
