Volleyball Recap: South Adams Beats Delta for Their Fourth Straight Victory

South Adams came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Delta Eagles. This was payback for the Starfires, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

South Adams had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-20.

Leading South Adams to victory were Charlee Bollenbacher and Laney Trausch. Bollenbacher had 15 digs and one assist, while Trausch had 21 assists and 12 digs. That's the most digs Trausch has posted since back in September.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kate Manor, who had 23 assists and 17 digs. Manor is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kinley Davis, who had 16 digs and five aces.

South Adams' victory bumped their record up to 22-8. As for Delta, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. After both having extra time off, South Adams and Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Starfires are facing the Braves at the right time seeing as the Braves are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Delta, they will venture away from home to take on Wes-Del at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
