Softball Game Preview: Portsmouth Trojans vs. South Webster Jeeps

The Portsmouth Trojans will face off against the South Webster Jeeps at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Portsmouth's offense. They lost 6-0 to Dawson-Bryant on Tuesday. The Trojans haven't had much luck with the Hornets recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Meanwhile, South Webster came up short against Wellston on Tuesday, falling 7-1. The Jeeps have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jaiden White spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks.

South Webster now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Portsmouth, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14.

Portsmouth might still be hurting after the 14-7 defeat they got from South Webster in their previous matchup back in May of 2023. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
