Preview: Southside Tigers vs. Belton-Honea Path Bears
Southside has been on the road for seven straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Belton-Honea Path Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Southside suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were beaten by Powdersville 71-42. While losing is never fun, Southside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while Powdersville is ranked 17th).
Meanwhile, even though Fountain Inn scored an imposing 56 points on Friday, Belton-Honea Path still came out on top. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, Belton-Honea Path made off with a 57-56 win over Fountain Inn. The win made it back-to-back wins for Belton-Honea Path.
Southside's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Belton-Honea Path, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.
Southside strolled past Belton-Honea Path when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a score of 63-47. Does Southside have another victory up their sleeve, or will Belton-Honea Path turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
