Basketball Preview: Great Falls Red Devils vs. Lewisville Lions
Great Falls is 2-8 against the Lions since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Great Falls Red Devils will head out on the road to take on the Lewisville Lions at 6:30 p.m.
Last Tuesday, Great Falls took a serious blow against the Panthers, falling 49-21.
Meanwhile, Lewisville came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 41-36 win over McBee.
Lewisville found their leader in underclassman Aiyana Murrell, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Murrell has been hot recently, having posted four or more blocks the last four times she's played. Mariah Wallace was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Great Falls' loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Lewisville, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.
Great Falls was taken down by the Lions 49-17 in their previous matchup back in January. Can Great Falls avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
