Football Recap: Woodrow Wilson Skates Past Sunny Hills with Ease

Woodrow Wilson put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their game with ease, bagging a 49-21 victory over the Sunny Hills Lancers. The Bruins have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lancers, too.

Woodrow Wilson's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kori Scott, who rushed for 190 yards and two TDs on only 15 carries. Those 190 rushing yards gave Scott a new career-high. Mack Cooper was another key signal caller, throwing for 245 yards and five touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Woodrow Wilson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 319 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 161 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Another reason for the win was Woodrow Wilson's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Sunny Hills' QB won't forget Jayson Pimentel anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Another thorn in the Lancers' side was Dylan Sula, who picked up a sack and made nine total tackles (2.0 for loss) in addition to snagging an interception.

Woodrow Wilson's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Sunny Hills, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodrow Wilson will challenge Dana Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sunny Hills, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Canyon at 7:00 p.m.
