Woodridge extended the longest winning streak in Portage Trail - County this week by beating Waterloo, 41-13. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Bulldogs.
Southeast led the league in scoring this week by notching 56 points on Rootstown.
Josh Cummings was a key player and the best on defense this week as Streetsboro lost to Roosevelt. The 5-foot-9 sophomore recorded 1 fumble.
Tom Finegan threw for 301 yards and 1 touchdown. He was 24-28 with 1 interception.
Finegan and Dalevon Davidson gave Woodridge a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Don Baker also contributed to the rushing game with 32 yards on the ground.
6-foot-2 quarterback Chase Chapman of Garfield is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,273. He has also thrown 9 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Anthony Thurman. The Woodridge star has 33 catches for 507 yards.
Next week's game between the G-Men and the Rockets will feature an aerial matchup as Chapman tests his arm against Dakari Carter's defensive ability.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Mogadore takes on the Vikings. At the moment, the Wildcats are in first, while Waterloo is in sixth.
