Pine View took a 17-run loss the last time they faced off against Canyon View, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Pine View skirted past Canyon View 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted against the Falcons since May 10, 2016.

Genevieve Evans was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. Jacynn Clark also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Pine View and bumps their season record up to 5-8. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Canyon View, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-12.

Coming up, Pine View will head out to square off against Virgin Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Canyon View, they will take on Manti at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
