Soccer Recap: Costa Mesa Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Costa Mesa was not quite Garden Grove's equal in the second half on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Garden Grove Argonauts by a score of 1-0. The shutout was out of character for the Mustangs seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in November of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Costa Mesa and nudges their season record down to 1-5-2. As for Garden Grove, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5-1.

Costa Mesa will host Katella at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Costa Mesa's last six games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Garden Grove, they will head out on the road to take on Laguna Hills at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Garden Grove is facing Laguna Hills at the right time seeing as Laguna Hills is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
