Baseball Recap: Thunderbird Adventist Academy Comes Up Short

Thunderbird Adventist Academy extended their losing streak to seven on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 3-9 in the process. They lost 11-0 to the Wickenburg Christian Academy Lion. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Wickenburg Christian Academy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 on Monday.

As for Wickenburg Christian Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-2-1. Considering they have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

For Wickenburg Christian Academy's part, Bam Hogue made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave Hogue a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Wickenburg Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Ross Egan, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was Egan's first of the season. Matt Sheehan was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Coincidentally, Thunderbird Adventist Academy and Wickenburg Christian Academy will both be playing Flagstaff Christian the next time they take the field. Wickenburg Christian Academy will head out to face Flagstaff Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, while Thunderbird Adventist Academy will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
