Basketball Recap: Compton Takes a Loss

Compton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 105-24 defeat at the hands of the Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits. While losing is never fun, the Tarbabes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1063rd, while the Jackrabbits are ranked 40th).

Compton's loss dropped their record down to 3-22. As for Long Beach Poly, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 21-6.

Compton won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Millikan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Millikan is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62 points per game this season. As for Long Beach Poly, they and Cabrillo will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. One thing working in Long Beach Poly's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 12 games.
