Softball Recap: West Mesquite Wranglers vs. Southwest Raiders
West Mesquite lost to Southwest back in March of 2020, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The West Mesquite Wranglers put the hurt on the Southwest Raiders with a sharp 9-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wranglers, who have now won three matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Avery Cox looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, West Mesquite let Ava Garza and Julianna Guitierrez run wild. Garza scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2, while Guitierrez scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-1. Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Mesquite will square off against Sunnyvale at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southwest, it'll be Eastside v. Westside when they and Eastern Hills meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
