Basketball Recap: Mountain City Christian Academy Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Mountain City Christian Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Soldotna Stars 77-39. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 32 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mountain City Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Keelie Kronberger, who went 8 of 19 en route to 20 points in addition to seven assists and four steals. Kronberger's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Brooklynn Ridgeway was another key player, going 9 for 14 on her way to 22 points and three steals.

Soldotna's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hope Hillyer, who posted eight points and nine boards. Hillyer is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cassidy Kruse, who scored four points along with eight boards and three steals.

Mountain City Christian Academy pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 36.3 points. As for Soldotna, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Mountain City Christian Academy beat Soldotna by a score of 65-26 on Saturday.
