Basketball Game Preview: Manteno Panthers vs. Herscher Tigers

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Manteno Panthers take on the Herscher Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday... Manteno is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

Manteno is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Streator 68-32. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Herscher played a tough contest on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Coal City and fell 53-26. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-14.

Manteno's win bumped their record up to 21-4. As for Herscher, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season.

Manteno strolled past Herscher when the teams last played back in January by a score of 51-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Manteno since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
