Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oak Level Baptist Academy). They walked away with a 52-43 win over the Faith Christian Academy Knights on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Conquerors as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Faith Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tyler McKinney, who went 8 for 19 on his way to 20 points in addition to five boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Chancelor Taylor, who posted ten points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Oak Level Baptist Academy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Faith Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 3-11 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Oak Level Baptist Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Woodland Baptist Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Faith Christian Academy and Surry HomeSchool will compete for holiday cheer at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Faith Christian Academy is facing Surry HomeSchool at the right time seeing as Surry HomeSchool is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
