Football Game Preview: Clairton Bears vs. Bishop Canevin Crusaders + How To Watch

The Clairton Bears will challenge the Bishop Canevin Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clairton will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.

Clairton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They snuck past Jeannette with a 38-33 victory. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 64th, while the Jayhawks are ranked 231st) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Clairton's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Deon Lovelace-Pompey, who rushed for 84 yards and one score on only eight carries, and Brandon Murphy Jr, who rushed for 40 yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, Bishop Canevin won against Greensburg Central Catholic two weeks ago with 50 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Crusaders took their game with ease, bagging a 50-7 win over Frazier. The result was nothing new for the Crusaders, who have now won six matchups by 32 points or more so far this season.

Clairton's record is now 11-1. As for Bishop Canevin, their record now sits at 9-2.

Everything went Clairton's way against Bishop Canevin in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as Clairton made off with a 24-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
