Basketball Game Preview: Our Lady of the Elms Panthers vs. Aquinas Knights

Our Lady of the Elms hasn't had much luck against Aquinas recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Our Lady of the Elms Panthers will head out to challenge the Aquinas Knights at 1:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Our Lady of the Elms is headed into Saturday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game dating back to last season on Wednesday. The game between them and Medina Christian Academy didn't end well, with Our Lady of the Elms falling 49-35. One positive for the Panthers, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Trinity Bell, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Heaven Thorn, who posted six points along with five boards and five steals.

Meanwhile, Aquinas played a tough contest on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Mogadore 53-13. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Our Lady of the Elms' defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Aquinas, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Our Lady of the Elms suffered a grim 48-28 defeat to Aquinas in their previous meeting back in February of 2020. Can Our Lady of the Elms avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
