Preview: Benjamin Mustangs vs. Oglesby Tigers
Benjamin is on a 12-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Oglesby is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Benjamin Mustangs will take on the Oglesby Tigers at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Benjamin has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 956 points over their last 14 matchups.
Benjamin extended their postseason success on Saturday against Klondike. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Cougars 52-4 on the road. Fans of Benjamin have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Grayson Rigdon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 323 yards and six touchdowns on only eight carries. Rigdon was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 67 yards.
Meanwhile, Oglesby faced Richland Springs in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Oglesby took down Richland Springs 62-48 on Saturday. 62 seems to be a good number for Oglesby as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
It was another big night for Kyler Fossett, who rushed for 284 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.3 yards per carry. Fossett is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ej Aviles, who rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Benjamin to 14-0 and Klondike to 11-2.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Wednesday's game as Benjamin and Oglesby haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Benjamin commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 9.1 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Oglesby struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.8 per game.
