Softball Recap: Pleasant Grove Eagles vs. Elk Grove Thundering Herd
In what's become a running theme this season, Pleasant Grove gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Elk Grove Thundering Herd as the Pleasant Grove Eagles made off with a 13-3 win. The victory was nothing new for Pleasant Grove as they're now sitting on 11 straight.
Madeline Lawson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Lawson was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
In other batting news, Pleasant Grove got a massive performance out of Natalie Brozaitis, who scored three runs while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Shealynn Stinson, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.
On Elk Grove's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Fitzgerlad, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Pleasant Grove pushed their record up to 17-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Elk Grove, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-10.
