Softball Recap: Countryside Christian Comes Up Short

If Countryside Christian was feeling good fresh off their 18-3 takedown of Eastside last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Minutemen lost 14-4 to the Harvest Community Warriors on Thursday.

Vanessa Colon stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Joy Sullivan was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Countryside Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. As for Harvest Community, they pushed their record up to 19-4 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Countryside Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Harvest Community, they will face off against Sandalwood at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
