Basketball Game Preview: Glasgow Dragons vs. Penn Wood Patriots

The Glasgow Dragons will take on the Penn Wood Patriots in a holiday battle at at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Penn Wood is hoping to do what Wilmington Christian couldn't on Monday: put an end to Glasgow's winning streak, which now stands at four games. Glasgow enjoyed a cozy 81-66 win over Wilmington Christian. The Dragons' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Glasgow's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jasai Harris, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 rebounds. Those 21 points gave Harris a new career-high. Jahsir Robertson was another key player, going 6 of 9 on his way to 15 points along with six boards and five assists.

Glasgow smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Penn Wood came up short against Paul Robeson on Monday and fell 80-70. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Huskies are ranked 81st).

Glasgow's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-0. As for Penn Wood, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
