Basketball Game Preview: Ledford Panthers vs. Oak Grove Grizzlies

Ledford is 1-9 against Oak Grove since January of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the Ledford Panthers will jump right back in to play the Oak Grove Grizzlies at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Ledford took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They walked away with a 54-41 win over Central Davidson. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Oak Grove entered their tilt with Montgomery Central on Monday with ten consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with 11. They took their match with ease, bagging a 67-27 win over the Timberwolves. Given the Grizzlies' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Timberwolves are ranked 408th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Oak Grove's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-7. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points over those games. As for Ledford, their win bumped their record up to 19-5.

Ledford was taken down by Oak Grove 72-31 when the teams last played two weeks ago. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Ledford was down 43-18.
