Basketball Recap: Mountainair Wins Going Away Against Floyd

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Melrose, Mountainair was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Everything went their way against the Floyd Broncos as the Mountainair Mustangs made off with a 53-32 victory. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 48-39 win the Broncos walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Issak Bustamante and Edwin Gallegos certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Bustamante posted 11 points, while Gallegos put up nine points. That's the most points Bustamante has posted since back in December of 2023.

Mountainair now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Floyd, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Mountainair didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 46-26 loss against Non Varsity Opponent on the 7th. As for Floyd, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 47-38 defeat against Tatum on the 7th.
