Basketball Recap: Leesville Road Comes Up Short

Leesville Road fought the good fight in their overtime game against Broughton on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 67-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Broughton Capitals. The loss continues a trend for the Pride in their matchups with the Capitals: they've now lost five in a row.

Broughton found their leader in sophomore Jordan Page, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 15 rebounds. The contest was Page's 19th in a row with at least ten points. Sean Alston was another key player, shooting 5-for-8 from downtown and almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine boards.

Leesville Road's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Broughton, their record is now 12-8.

Leesville Road didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 80-64 win against Athens Drive on the 4th. As for Broughton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-44 victory against Cardinal Gibbons on the 4th.
