Football Recap: Reeltown Piles Up the Points Against Ranburne

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Reeltown). They blew past the Ranburne Bulldogs 56-7 on Friday. With the Rebels ahead 35-7 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Leading Reeltown to victory were Traylen Roberts and Alijah Woods. Roberts rushed for 119 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 15 carries, while Woods gained 109 total yards and three touchdowns. Dalvante 'Tre' Smith was another key player, rushing for 59 yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Reeltown was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 347 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 14 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Woods, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

The win was the third in a row for Reeltown, bringing their record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.0 points on average over those games. As for Ranburne, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-2.

Reeltown didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 73-49 win against Loachapoka on the 19th. As for Ranburne, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 50-14 loss against Central of Coosa County on the 19th.
