Soccer Game Preview: Roanoke Valley Christian vs. United Christian Academy

The Roanoke Valley Christian EAGLES will face off against the United Christian Academy Crusaders at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Roanoke Valley Christian's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Roanoke Valley Christian's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over Westover Christian Academy. Roanoke Valley Christian wouldn't have won without Austin Atkins, who scored the game-winner.

Meanwhile, United Christian Academy fell victim to Temple Christian and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 6-0 to Temple Christian. The loss continues a trend for United Christian Academy in their meetings with Temple Christian: they've now lost six in a row.

Roanoke Valley Christian's victory bumped their record up to 7-9-1. As for United Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
