Basketball Recap: Zay Thurman Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Air Academy

There's no place like home for Vista Ridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They managed a 59-54 win over the Air Academy Kadets on Saturday. That's more bragging rights for the Wolves, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Vista Ridge got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Zay Thurman out in front who made all 7 shots he took to post 19 points in addition to six boards and four steals. Thurman is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games he's played. Ben Arnold was another key player, putting up 15 points and three steals.

Despite the loss, Air Academy still got an impressive performance from Teagan Morse, who went 5-for-8 on his way to 14 points. The dominant performance also gave Morse a new career-high in assists (two). Another player making a difference was Sam Brennan, who posted four points.

Vista Ridge's record now sits at 8-15. As for Air Academy, they dropped their record down to 3-20 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

As of now, neither Vista Ridge nor Air Academy have any future games scheduled.
