Volleyball Recap: Sidney Has No Trouble Against Xenia

Sidney had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Xenia on Thursday. The Yellowjackets were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Buccaneers. The game marked the Yellowjackets' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Sidney not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Xenia between 17 and 20 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-20, 25-18.

Kalesha Rush paced Sidney's offense, picking up 15 kills. Rush got some help from Alena Swearingen and her 20 assists. Finally, Reagan Oswalt kept Sidney's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Sidney's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Xenia, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Looking ahead, Sidney is taking a road trip to square off against Stebbins at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Xenia, they will welcome Tippecanoe at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
