Baseball Recap: NorthWood Panthers vs. New Prairie Cougars
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but NorthWood had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the New Prairie Cougars. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-2 back in April.
Connor Reed spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mason Warren, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Mason Bogan, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs.
