Baseball Game Preview: Dorman Cavaliers vs. James F. Byrnes Rebels

For the second straight game, Dorman will face off against James F. Byrnes. The Cavaliers will welcome the Rebels at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Dorman will bounce into Friday's contest after beating James F. Byrnes, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Cavaliers came out on top against the Rebels by a score of 6-2 on Wednesday. The game was the first time the Cavaliers have beaten the Rebels on their field since April 14, 2021.

For James F. Byrnes' part, Hayden Lister was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Those two hits allowed gave Lister a new career-low.

At the plate, Harrison Keels made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Crenshaw, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Dorman is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for James F. Byrnes, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.
