Basketball Recap: Syracuse Takes Down Pleasant Grove in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Syracuse had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They really took it to the Pleasant Grove Vikings for the full four quarters, racking up a 54-21 victory. The Titans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 20 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Maylee Anderson, who went 8-for-12 en route to 20 points in addition to six boards and four steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Rachel McBride, who had ten points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Syracuse pushed their record up to 20-3 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Pleasant Grove, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season.

Syracuse wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 56-30 loss against Lone Peak on the 24th. Pleasant Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
