Baseball Recap: Valley Vikings vs. Johnson Warriors
Valley proved they can win big on Monday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Johnson Warriors 13-12. This was payback for the Vikings, who suffered a 20-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Carmine Bermudez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
