Roane County turns things around after tough road loss

There's no place like home for the Roane County Yellowjackets, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 64-45 win over Sweetwater on Thursday. Given Roane County's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 145th, while Sweetwater is ranked 300th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Sweetwater saw an underclassman step up: Lilly Woodruff dropped a double-double on 21 points and 16 rebounds. That was a full 46.7% of Sweetwater's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kendall Tyler, who scored ten points.

Roane County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for Sweetwater, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-18.

Roane County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 65-36 loss vs. Farragut on the 9th. Sweetwater has also already played their next matchup, a 50-47 victory against Fulton on the 9th.
