Softball Recap: Neshannock Picks Up 51st Consecutive Victory

Neshannock had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Chartiers-Houston Buccaneers on Monday as they made off with a 12-1 victory. Considering the Lancers have won 19 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Addy Frye made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Gianna DeSalvo was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Miley Anderson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

The win keeps Neshannock at an undefeated 25-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Chartiers-Houston, their loss dropped their record down to 22-3.
