Basketball Game Preview: Carson Cougars vs. Concord Spiders

Carson hasn't had much luck against Concord recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Carson Cougars will be playing at home against the Concord Spiders at 7:30 p.m. Carson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Concord likes a good challenge.

If Carson beats Concord with 72 points on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Carson walked away with a 72-59 win over Robinson on Friday.

Meanwhile, Concord suffered their biggest defeat since February 23, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 78-54 to Robinson. While losing is never fun, the Spiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 96th).

Concord's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Carson, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6.
