Baseball Recap: Ayersville Triumphs

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Ayersville ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Antwerp Archers 6-4. The Pilots haven't had any issues with the Archers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Alex Sigler, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Owen Lloyd, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

The win got Ayersville back to even at 8-8. As for Antwerp, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Ayersville is set to face off against their familiar foe Tinora at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Antwerp will challenge rival Paulding at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
