Softball Recap: Gibraltar Comes Up Short

Gibraltar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 21-20 heartbreaker at the hands of the Black River Falls Tigers.

Courtney Foy was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with five runs and four RBI. Isla Fagundes was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances.

Gibraltar's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Black River Falls, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gibraltar will take on Sturgeon Bay at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give the Vikings their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Black River Falls, they will challenge Stanley-Boyd at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
