Basketball Game Preview: Lakeside Vikings vs. Woodward Academy War Eagles

The Lakeside Vikings will face off against the Woodward Academy War Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Lakeside came up into this matchup off a tough 28-point defeat last Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Shiloh by a score of 39-37 on Tuesday. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Woodward Academy came tearing into Tuesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past the Bulldogs with points to spare, taking the game 74-58. Given the War Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Bulldogs are ranked 162nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Woodward Academy's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points per game. As for Lakeside, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.
