Football Recap: Stanwood Starts Season with Victory at Home + How To Watch

Stanwood gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They came out on top against the Spanaway Lake Sentinels by a score of 27-14. For the Spartans, this counts as revenge for the 47-42 win the Sentinels walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Although Spanaway Lake took the loss, they still got scores from Key'Andre White and Peyton Martin.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stanwood is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Sedro-Woolley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Spartans' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Spanaway Lake, they will face off against Kentwood at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
