Soccer Recap: Smithsburg Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Smithsburg had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. Their defense stepped up to hand the Fairfield Knights a 6-0 shutout.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Smithsburg will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Francis Scott Key at 6:30 p.m. on September 9. As for Fairfield, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will take on Littlestown at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
