Volleyball Game Preview: Ridgefield Tigers vs. Ludlowe Falcons

Ridgefield is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Ludlowe is on a five-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Tigers will host the Falcons at 5:45 p.m. on Monday.

Ridgefield is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Connecticut's top teams: Warde, who was ranked second at the time (Ridgefield was ranked eighth). The Tigers fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Ridgefield wouldn't go down easily and took Warde into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-14, 25-20, 21-25, 15-11.

Meanwhile, Ludlowe earned a 3-1 win over St. Joseph on Friday.

Ridgefield's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for Ludlowe, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.
