Basketball Recap: Kamryn Locklear and Zaylee Hunt Secure Win for Purnell Swett

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fairmont, Purnell Swett was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They took down the North Brunswick Scorpions 51-33.

Leading Purnell Swett to victory were Zaylee Hunt and Kamryn Locklear. Hunt posted ten points and four steals, while Locklear had nine points and seven assists. Those ten points gave Hunt a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnna Sampson, who scored five points and three steals.

The win got Purnell Swett back to even at 1-1. As for North Brunswick, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Purnell Swett will square off against Douglas Byrd at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. North Brunswick will be paying especially close attention to the Rams' game: after the Rams face off against the Eagles, they'll take on North Brunswick again at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
