Recap: Marian Crusaders vs. Lincoln Lynx
In what's become a running theme this season, the Marian Crusaders gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They blew past Lincoln 61-34 at home. The win was familiar territory for Marian who now have three in a row.
Marian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Madison Stover led the charge by scoring 11 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Maggie Tynan, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Several Lynx players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Preslie Girres, who scored seven points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Hutson Rau, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Marian's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.2 points per game. As for Lincoln, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marian will take on Millard West at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Millard West's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches. As for Lincoln, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bishop Heelan Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Heelan Catholic will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Lincoln surely won't give up without a fight.
