Baseball Recap: Liberty Takes a Loss

Liberty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 13-6 to the Buchanan Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-0 last Thursday.

Aden Manning and Braden Turman did some serious damage despite the final result: Manning scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Turman went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Those two runs gave Manning a new career-high. Brady Baird also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Liberty now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Buchanan, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty will host Independence at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Liberty's pitchers better be ready for this one: Independence has averaged an impressive 10.2 runs per game this season. As for Buchanan, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Oakmont at 1:00 p.m.
