League recap: Goodwin breaks off league-leading run for Finneytown

Finneytown's D'Ante Goodwin rumbled for the longest rushing play in Cincinnati Hills this season in his game against Deer Park last week. Goodwin's team bested the Wildcats as he sprinted for 96 yards on the play and finished with 251 in all.

Mariemont moved up to 379 from 437 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Warriors climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Taylor 10-7.

Finneytown's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Bradley Steimle threw for 123 and 1 touchdown and Bally Butler had 115 yards receiving. On the ground Goodwin chipped in 251 yards. Jordan Smith helped Finneytown's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 35 yards.

Darryn Chenalt's team's dynamic duo of Steimle and Butler proved tough for Deer Park to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Smith helped Finneytown's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 35 yards.

Danny Renner made the biggest impact on defense this week as Mariemont defeated the Yellowjackets. The 5-foot-10 senior grabbed 1 interception.

Goodwin was a beast in the backfield as the Wildcats topped Jeff Beard's team.

Goodwin provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Finneytown bested the Wildcats. Goodwin's favorite target this week was Butler, who caught 5 passes for 115 yards.

Kurry Commins' team's Kane Coates and David Cowart led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-3 quarterback Coates has thrown for 870 yards this season, while Cowart has 14 catches for 274 yards. Goodwin from the Wildcats leads the league in rushing with 638 yards.

An important game coming up in Cincinnati Hills this week will be when Madeira takes on the Warriors. The Mustangs are in first place, while Mariemont is in fourth place.

Wyoming took down Reading 41-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
