Preview: Liberty vs. Truman

If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Liberty. They will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Truman at 7:00 PM. Liberty will be looking to build upon the 54-7 win they picked up against Truman the last time they played.

Liberty came out on top in a nail-biter against Park Hill, sneaking past 24-21. Liberty's success was spearheaded by the efforts of senior Jack Lowery, who caught passes for 113 yards and 2 touchdowns, and senior Alex Roush, who passed for 207 yards and 3 touchdowns. One of the most thrilling moments of the match was Lowery's 83-yard TD pass in the second quarter.

Meanwhile, Truman took a serious blow against Liberty North last week, falling 0-49. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.

Liberty's win lifted them to 1-1 while Truman's loss dropped them down to 0-2. We'll see if Liberty's success rolls on or if Truman are able to steal their positive momentum.
